Northville's own, City Lights Chorus set to open the Downtown Festival on Saturday, September 7th.
The Northville Food and Wine Festival is pleased to announce Northville's award-winning City Lights Chorus will be launching Saturday's Downtown Festival activities with an exclusive performance under the Center Square Pavilion starting at 1:00pm.
The group was founded in 2017 as a premier men’s acappella chorus specializing in the barbershop style, and prides itself on representing the pillars of brotherhood, vulnerability and dedication through the way we interact with our community.
Each member of our chorus is not only a capable singer, but are invested in the mission and ideals of the chorus as a whole to best promote the highest character. The chorus intends to compete in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s district and international-level competitions.
City Lights Chorus competed on April 27th at the Pioneer District Convention in the Grand Traverse Resort, Traverse City. The Pioneer District is one of 17 districts of the Barbershop Harmony Society and it includes chapters from all over Michigan and southern Ontario.
Out of the 9 choruses, City Lights Chorus came away with the championship and garnered the highest ever winning score with an 81.8.
Outside of competition, City Lights puts on various performances throughout the year to enhance our community of singers and the lives of those that we encounter in the metro-Detroit area.
