Amoritas Vineyards announces 2019 Northville Food & Wine Festival lineup

Amoritas Vineyards has announced their selected wines to be served as tasting for the 2019 Northville Food & Wine Festival on Saturday September 7th, 2019.

Many years ago, throughout the course of many a wine tasting, the idea was first generated that we could start a winery.  What once began as a spark in the form of curious hopes, was kindled by the forces of education and opportunity, and now burns brightly as a beacon of passionate dedication.  We’ve been growing ever since!

Michael, Emily, and Matthew Goodell carry the torch of entrepreneurial wine industrialism, originally lit by deceased wife & mother, Mary Northcutt, into the forefront of Michigan farmers and winemakers.  Along with Matthew’s wife Nora, the team has forged ahead tirelessly.  Pursuing a goal to craft clean, delicate, and delicious wines.  Wines created from grapes planted, nurtured, and harvested by hand on Michigan’s Leelanau Peninsula.

2016 Chardonnay:

Our unoaked Chardonnay is full of intense flavors. Delicate apple marries with lemon and a long mineral mouthfeel, this is a great wine to play with food pairings.

The Chardonnay is made in the traditional of Chablis, making every sip crisp and light with slight minerality.

2017 Mary's Folly Field Blend:

A blend of three grapes, Auxerrois, Muscat Ottonel and Pinot Blanc, all harvested together, this wine is floral and fun, with layers of complexity and a silky smooth finish.  2016 dances on the sweet side, 2017 toes the dry line, 2018 is bubbly and off-dry.

A trio of Auxerrois, Muscat Ottonel, and Pinot Blanc comprise this blend. This vintage has a higher concentration of Auxerrois and Pinot Blanc, so we decided to pursue a very dry style. Crisp, yet complex.

2016 Hail Mary Riesling (Semi-Sweet):

Sometimes getting a great harvest out of Michigan grapes feels like a challenge, but we made a play for greatness with this wine. Sweet enough to match the peach and pineapple notes and balanced enough to drink all night.

This Classic Riesling wine combines the sweetness of tropical fruit with the natural acidity of the Riesling grape.
